July 26, 2020 - First bottle that I drank some time ago was corked, but this one was in perfect order. Quite dark for a Burg, with only the slightest brownish rim. Forest floor, mushrooms, berries, plum and a touch of cinnamon and tobacco. This wine still has some tannins, but it's very approachable now even if it may not yet be at it's peak. I'm in no hurry to finish the other bottles.

March 3, 2020 - Quite delicious. Maybe best Marsannay I’ve ever had. Ripe red fruit, crunch and tension in the mid palate, long lovely finish. Great balance at 12.5%. Good now but best in 3 more years.

March 2, 2017 - Small Après-Tasting Wasserman Producer Dinner (Sepia - Chicago IL): Open approx 30 minutes before serving (less than last time), more air would have helped. Great black fruit concentration with spice aplenty. Very weighty and meaty. Easy to enjoy, but perhaps just barely in its peak drinking window.

December 17, 2016 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Served double blind to the tasting group, alongside Maison Ilan 2011 Mazoyères-Chambertin. Dense and meaty start-to-finish, with ripe and opulent fruit. Very good concentration, really showing its old vine pedigree. Perhaps a touch of wood still protrudes, but that is nit-picking. Very cellarworthy.

November 29, 2015 - Muted on the nose initially, fairly clean though. Took an hour for this to open up. Mostly black fruits. Plum, soils and oaks with bitter chocolate finish. Dense with good length, fairly big for a village. Lacking a bit of energy though. Compared this to the '12 Jean Marc Pillot CSJ next to it, seems rather plain and not as refined. This will need few more years in the cellar. Shows improvement on the 2nd day, really big wine for a village. 89-90 pts.
