April 22, 2014 - Musty mushroom and raisiny on the nose, predominant taste of leather, a little tobacco, hint of raisins/dry cherry and bell pepper.

Nice med+ body for a 13.4%, and still reasonable tannins, med finish. Over its prime for sure, but not shot at all. Not overly raisiny like some older wines can be, color was still burgundy, not brown. Definitely a good cork and storage history for this bottle, uliage only 1/2" and the cork was stained to about 1/4 through.

September 23, 2012 - Opened with Ah-So. Cork saturated 2/3 up. Clear garnet color. Great nose of red fruit, tobacco, bell pepper, mint, leather, and mushroom. On the palate, bright cherry, cedar, mushroom, tobacco, leather, bell pepper. Finishes with a little bit of tannic grip and great balance. Clearly a little past peak, but this will still have life for quite a while.

October 11, 2009 - Murky maroon. Nose is a melange of mushrooms, bell peppers, and cedar. Palate is still integrated, with a silky midpalate that segues into a muscular, tannic, and impressively long finish. Needless to say, a surprise.

February 28, 2007 - Wonderful nose of dark fruits with a bit of bitter chocolate. Perfectly balanced wine. Still some grip from the tannins. 25 years later and this wine still has something left. Finishes very elegantly. Impressed
