February 5, 2018 - Nose: Red fruit, chassis, ceder and mushrooms
typical of the old Vintage the wine showed some brick colors and needed about an hour to open up. The peek was after 1 hour and the wine faded rather quickly. We didn't make it to finish the bottle and started to feel painful to finish the glass.
Mouth: Black fruits, musty cave, mushrooms and wild cherries.
This one is probably overdue and was at it's peak 5-3 years ago.
The wine looks brick colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like black currant (cassis), prune, dust, mushroom, forest floor, cedar and bell pepper. It tastes like raspberry, black currant (cassis), prune, mushroom, stoniness, cedar, rose, tobacco and bell pepper. The body is medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.2 people found this helpful Comment -

November 21, 2009 - Drank two magnums over about 5 hours. Both very similar. Nose very fruity right from the start, lush juicy berries which then came back on the aftertaste. The first magnum was opened an hour and a half before first tasting and then kept developing with time. Hints of gunpowder and 'musty cave' at first but they mellowed. The wine really coated the mouth and gave a beautiful fruity aftertaste of blackberries and raspberries, with a slight sourness that made the mouth salivate.
These were both lovely bottles and a very good standard for 'only' a second wine. The great vintage might have had something to do with it! -

February 10, 2008 - Delicious bottle. Showed better than a 2nd wine of a 5th growth. The quality of the vintage was evident.
