December 25, 2019 - Christmas dinner with roast rib roast. Drinking very well now.

December 1, 2019 - Cork was as soft as clay and crumbled into tiny pieces. Amazingly very few got into the bottle and were easily strained on way to decanter. Lovely, powerful nose of dense black fruit and earthy forest floor. Great from the onset but smooths out after 45 minutes. Sampled over 5 hours and it didn’t let up one bit.

Palate is similar to nose with ripe fig driven flavors as the focal point. I enjoy fig flavors in wine, so this went over really well. With the right meal this could approach 93-94.

February 13, 2019 - A big, juicy, and bold Tinta De Toro (aka Tempranillo). Almost like a big Napa Cab. Brooding of plum, cedar, vanilla, and leather on both the nose and palate with a great acidity. Fleshy tannins that tie the complexity of this wine nicely together. Highly recommended. 92+

January 9, 2017 - Weekly tasting group RWP #242: A randomly chosen blind tasted set. (@ JdB): In the bouquet lush dark forest fruits and dark cherries. On the palate a very concentrated wine with dark berries, oak, vanilla and coffee. A firm amount of sweetness but also good acidity and round tannin. Drinks nicely now when given a decant of a few hours, but will improve with some more ageing. 2020 – 2024+ should be no problem. 92+

November 21, 2016 - Nose: big ETOH at first, opens up and gives nice cedar dark fruit, licorice, and cocoa

Taste: tannic! very clean fruit despite the monster tannins
