  April 21, 2012 - Tasted this alongside the cork-fininsh version of this vintage. It was a perfect split between the tasters (6) as to preference of cork or Screw-cap closure. The Screw-cap version seemed to be more evolved than the cork finish. Bothe wines exhibited great, sweet, black fruit with smoky espresso on the long chocolatey finish. The cork finish version had greater density and depth, while the Screw-cap version was more supple. Both versions are drinking great, but I get the sense that the cork finish version bottle may not have peaked, while the Screw-cap bottle was close to a peak.

  May 22, 2009 - we had a celebration of my daughters first child, Molly. We drank a number of really good cabernets plus a Clarendon old Bewitt Grenache that was excellent. The Plumpjack was the WOTN for the majority of drinkers, especially those who prefer old world wines. The plumpjack was quite good, with a bordeau profile.
  also had a 06 Pina Buckeye that was excellent, but probably too young, 05 Cliff Lede,04 John Anthony, 03 Darioush, a Beringer 04 Private Reserve- this was probably the least favorite of all the cabs even though the nose on the wine was great, wasn't as big as the others, 90 rated, and a Hidden Ridge 04,
