June 21, 2021 - Been collecting and drinking Farr Pinot for a few years. Bought this at auction. Colour and depth was disappointing - light colour, quite brown. The nose and palate generally defied the appearance which made me think it wasn’t just a faulty bottle that had been stored improperly. I couldn’t see this going any further. Amazing complexity - reminds me more of a burgundy Pinot than Australian Shiraz. Pepper, black currant, smoky paprika, dense molasses/licorice. 95pts if you ignore the colour. Drink up.

December 12, 2014 - This wine is made in typical By Farr style with a sense of presence and structure that is informed by whole bunch and top quality Geelong fruit.
On the nose there is lifted red cherry and plum, smokey stem and sweeter spice. There are bright cherry fruits on entry that evolve into a peacocks tail of stem and spice, there is a slight sappiness gives texture. Savoury, yet fully integrated tannins provide contrast on the long finish with dark cherry and clove spice shining through.

October 4, 2012 - Langtons cellar club tasting october 2012 (Roof Terrace Australian Museum): Surprisingly pale purple coloured. Aromas of green and black pepper over black berry and currants. There is also some slight oak spice. More of the same in the mouth - it's nice but the finish is rather short.
