April 9, 2014 - Crisp and refreshing Riesling that isn't too sweet. Very nice and will be a great wine for summer. Deb's pick - brought to Jan and Dale's country weekend.

July 8, 2013 - Crisp, clean and not too much citrus. A very nice summer wine.

August 21, 2012 - I continue to wax poetic on nearby winery Dutton Goldfield, and love their diversity in wines, beyond their core Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

This is a wonderful old world style Riesling. Says winemaker Dan Goldfield "Our hedonistic goal in crafting this wine is to maintain the tremendous brightness, focus and freshness that our favorite Rieslings of the world express."

This is input into CT incorrectly its a Marin County, not Russian River vineyard. And the second wine this year that has made my ponder, other than real estate costs, why we don't see more fruit from Marin.

To The Eye: Bright light, clear, yellow straw
On The Nose: the essence of Riesling aromatics: citrus peel, lemon, hint of honeysuckle, but with out that annoying overly floral aspect CA Riesling can sometime have.
In The Mouth: The is a fun, mouthwatering wine. Both brightness and texture await when tasted: One gets the citrus immediately on the front palate, then picks up some texture and viscosity in the mid palate. Stone fruits, white peach, lemon notes, all dance across the tongue. The finish is refreshing and mouthwatering, lingering on the tongue slowly, enticing you

This is a keeper, and perhaps a one time offering from D-G, so grab whats left at the tasting room.

Pair it with some shellfish, or quaff it down solo.
