Community Tasting Notes 15

March 16, 2024 - In a nice spot. Drank it over 2 days with braised beef and a hachis parmentier.

October 22, 2020 - This was nice, but not in the pantheon of great. Deep ruby purple color, with aromas associated with high alcohol dominating any fruit. But the palate as still very nice cassis, and the tannins have all integrated beautifully, so eminently drinkable. Long finish. Paired first with duck and lamb sausages off the grill, and later with the cheese board. Fine companion to both. But the wine, as I reflect on last glass (of two bottles), is just not terribly complex or interesting. I'd dispute those who say its more like a Bordeaux....I think it's more like a New World big cab, just smoother and more subtle.

February 23, 2019 - Shows no sign of fading. Luscious Bordeaux blend flavors.

July 15, 2018 - Drinks more like a Bordeaux than domestic cab blend. Peaked after one hour in the decanter then held for a couple hours before fading. Drink now.

November 5, 2017 - An excellent blend that was still great on the second night.
