February 28, 2023 - Cork in good condition. Slight bricking to the edges.
Nose was a bit muted on open. Savory, herb, spice, pepper, blackberry, slight mint, cinnamon.
Palate complex, quite secondary, sweet and herbacious, dry, tannins soft and finish smooth.Later, slight coffee note.
2hrs later fruit was a little tired. This particular bottle was showing far more developed, less youthful characteristics. Could be bottle variation. If this bottle is represenative...drink up.87- 88
Day 2, most of the fruit perfume had gone but still consumable. -

October 14, 2021 - Deep youthful colour gave promise of things to come. Classic cabernet. Evolved in flavour/structure but probably a number of years still in it. Dark fruited, perfectly balanced and tobacco, cocoa and warming spices. Clearly outshone Mount Mary Quintet 2006 opened at same time.

April 8, 2021 - Cork, 14.5% alc. Opaque, dark red with some minor bricking. Perfect cork.
There is a dense and one-dimensional aroma upon opening. The nose comes alive with air to reveal mulberry, blackcurrant, mint, florals, tobacco, pencil shavings, polished timber cupboard, and a slight alcohol lift.
Still rather fruity, and richly fruited at that. But not exuberant; more elegant. Some gloss at the front of the palate, then whoosh – it expands and envelopes the rest of the mouth, surging again - before finishing again with the same gloss and freshness. Powdery tannins are assertive; this must have been incredibly dry and tannic upon release. Long finish. Throws a lot of fine sediment.
Opinion: Impressive Coonawarra Cabernet. Probably at the start of its drinking window, for me. Drink over the next decade and give a solid decant upon opening. -

December 18, 2020 - Lovely strong deep red colour. Very complex nose and palate. Lots of plums, cedar and spicyness. Mid weight but lovely depth and quite velvety on the palate with a long elegant palate with theses very finessed fine tannins. For me a perfect middle aged cooonawarra red.
