August 19, 2022 - Hard to believe that this BdM is at such a good spot now. Garnet red, with orange dim towards rim. Intense and seductive aroma of sweet dried cherries and plums, tobacco, leather, earth, licorice, nutmeg, dried herbs, smoky cold cuts, camphor hints. Medium body, entry is signed by a bright acidity, mid palate reveals complex and pronounced rainbow of smoky and dried fruit flavours echoing aroma, some funky touches. Concludes with well structured grained tannins without a sign of fading and long smoky finish.

February 19, 2017 - Nice balance in this aged Brunello and oh so smooth. Was great with squid ink pasta with artichokes, asparagus and truffle oil. Last bottle in my cellar from a case of 12.

January 4, 2016 - Decanted for 3 hours. Dark with beautiful rich Sangiovese fruit. Nice balance and complexity with a long finish. An exceptionable bottle.

December 6, 2014 - This is drinking beautiful now. Beautiful dark Sangiovese fruit with soft tannins and a long finish. A great bottle of Brunello that was singing tonight.

April 5, 2013 - Very dark almost purple colour with minimal bricking at edges, this was initially very closed on the nose but opened up nicely after 30-45 minutes of aeration to reveal bitter sweet dark cherry, plum, red liquorice and a faint smoky character. Medium to full bodied, firm but soft tannins and a lush mouthfeel with decent acidity and length. Very enjoyable now with food but I'd wait a couple more years to completely smooth this out personally; the fruit is still very bright and will hold up. Better than expected frankly.
