April 15, 2012 - Bright and showing no age. This GC is a classic in the Sancerre vein. Tropical aromas (quite intense), and then a good generous fleshiness in the mouth with tense acidity and a hint of minerality. For a ten year old wine, a sauv blanc to change ideas! And I am now convinced that in the right vintage there is no hurry to drink Sancerre. To account for age- a higher score, but on its own merits and against newer vintages, a solid 91 or 92.
