September 20, 2019 - Wonderful nose and still going strong. It's certainly not going to get any better, but I wouldn't call it over the hill either. Drinking quite nicely. Perhaps getting a little thin for those who expect a California wine to 'punch them in the face', but there's a good amount of complexity still going on here. Cassis and sweet tobacco are prevalent.

March 31, 2014 - Blackberry and blueberry we'll balanced with a final note of sweet cherry. We'll aged with lots of fruit on the nose and in the mouth

October 19, 2013 - Expressive black fruits. Good acidity, and nice structure. So happy it is still holding up. Glad I'm drinking it today though. Fear it will be just grape juice in the next 6 months.

May 26, 2013 - Sam and Russ in SoCal (Walt's House, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA): Served from a magnum. Showing no signs of age in the glass. The nose explodes out of the decanter with dried dark fruit and cocoa. Palate is singing, cassis and cedar really drive the effort. Medium plus finish perfect balance. Excellent Bordeaux blend.
