January 6, 2014 - Very pale straw color. A burst of ruby red grapefruit and tangerine on the nose, but there’s also an underlying sense of river stream and rocky seashore, some seaweed. Medium+ bodied, with high acid, it makes a great combination. White cherry, tangerine and grapefruit tastes tart but fully ripe. The secondary flavors of limestone, ocean spray and minerals show a lot of intensity and length. Lovely potpourri (lavender? elderflower?) aspects. This is not an expensive wine ($15) but it’s a damn good. If you’re tired of lawnmower Sauv Blancs, and you like minerals, this is worth checking out. Served with a linguine and white clam sauce and Caesar salad… not bad for a Monday night!
