March 1, 2013 - Tasted blind among some heavy hitter reds.
    rated middle of its flight
    My blind notes:
Nose - dirty diaper, closed at first; with time offered nice dark fruity aromas & cassis
Mouth - nice fruit good structure, low tannins.
    Finish - medium
    * I liked this better than the screwtop closure*

May 20, 2009 - a most interesting side-by-side tasting with the screw cap version. decanted, and served at the perfect temperature despite a difficult tasting environment. a fabulous bottle condition/performance, displaying beautiful napa cab nuance and development. fine tannins wrapped around an expressive core of fruit, and depth of character. the wine seems to be aging effortlessly and can be drunk or held with confidence. this was double blind to all but me, the provider.

May 20, 2009 - Nice wine drinking very young, big scalr with red fruits, cassis, hints of tabbaco and big kick of tannins on the finish.

May 20, 2009 - Blind Night (Mattias): Dark purple color. Blackcurrant nose. Tastes of black cherry, violet, currant and blackberry. Well balanced. Rich finish with very nice depth and complexity of fruit. Blind tasted both 1997 Plumpjack Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve's under screwcap and cork against each other. Correctly identified Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon for both but thought they were from different producers. The cork version being more evolved and complex. A very interesting comparison especially blind. Provided by Jeff.

(Plumpjack Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (Cork Closure)) Very dark red violet color with tiny sediment; oak, dill, cassis nose; tight, very youthful, tart cassis palate with near medium acidity and firm tannins; medium finish (bottle B: group's least favorite in blindtasting of cork closure vs. stelvin closure)
