Community Tasting Notes 6

October 12, 2015 - A lovely PN on the light side, even with a 15.1% alcohol content. All dijon clone, with nose and palate of cherries and strawberries, braced with just a hint of Willamette Valley smoke and forest floor. Thin mouth feel. Good match for salmon or turkey.

November 21, 2013 - A fine finessed beginning, middle, end.

January 17, 2013 - 2 Days in the Valley- Day 2 (Willamette Valley, OR): Nose: Nice and succulent nose filled with tones of red fruits, dark red cherries, fresh picked berries, and some spice tones. There is real nice depth on this with a real sense of class as well.

Taste: Medium bodied with medium/high acidity and very good tannins. The structure isn't overpowering, but it is there along with tones of red fruits, dark red cherries, some plums, and spice tones.

Overall: This is a beautiful pinot. This has very good depth and a real sense of class to it. This is beautiful right now, but can get better with age.

November 25, 2012 - Served single blind in a Thanksgiving tasting of 2010 pinots from various winemakers all from the shea vinyard. The lineup included offerings from St. Innocent, Winderlea, Broadley, Shea, Penner-Ash and Autuer's Ophelia. Upon intial opening was in serious contention for wine of the night, but ultimatly did not hold up as well in the glass as did the St Innocent. Still a fine showing in the number two spot. Fragrant red fruit and spice, and elegant in the mouth.

November 11, 2012 - Too young but couldn't resist. Opened up nicely after decanting and some patience. Simply spectacular.
