July 14, 2013 - Citrus, melon, slight pineapple notes, tastes more like a Pinot Grigio than the typical crisp, grassy notes of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

June 20, 2013 - Simple plane Jane SB. No nuances, but no flaws either. Plenty of acid for complimenting food, plenty of fruit to just refresh at the end of the day. At $8 it is a real bargain.

June 16, 2013 - if nothing else, this is a great value sauvignon blanc. nice, friendly, white- can't really say much negative about it. fruit forward with lime and orange (and maybe something sweeter- pear? pineapple?) on the palate and some acidity to it- it is not a marlborough, but then it is half the price of a marlborough. It is sort of like a baby marlborough, except one that will not improve with age. just a nice refreshing wine that will pair well with apps/ fish to be enjoyed on a summer evening. yes, it's a big producer and yes it's fairly unoriginal but for this price to be as likeable as this one, is a fine feat.
06/25. still good value but not quite as bright as I thought it was at last tasting. probably a good beginner sauvignon- sort has all the characteristics that make this my favorite grape, but so muted one could argue over their presence at all. still has the acidity to it, but not quite balanced. finish a bit harsh- almost a fake sort of acidity to enhance marlborough aspect but a bit "off". hard to describe it better than that. still good value and a pretty respectable wine for the price.

February 10, 2013 - I've been walking past this wine for several years wondering if it was serious. Finally tried a bottle and discovered we had been missing out. This is not your typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. It does not have the usual unripe type grassy herbaceous flavors and aromas. It does have a delightful brown spice and cinnamon character. More medium plus bodied than typical. Even more golden in color. The nose is spiced apples and lemon. More smooth spice with apple and citrus across the palate. Of course no oak. Refined fully integrated acid. Reminds me more of Semillon. Nice finish.
