Community Tasting Notes 9

June 4, 2016 - A damn sexy pinot. Gorgeous full nose of florals, red cherry and spice. Palate is round with mid-weight sweet red fruit and loads of spice. Good juicy acidity. Textured, delicious finish.

April 24, 2010 - Clear garnet red color of medium intensity and medium body. Nose of sagebrush blooms, allspice, wild strawberries, tart cherries, dark plums and lightly toasted oak. On the palate this wine was well balanced with medium plus acid to frame the nuanced fruit , herbs and wood. This is a wine at a peak maturity. One of the most impressive Santa Barbara County pinot noirs I have ever tasted. Beautiful, complex, bold yet delicate finish that lingers for up to 45 sec. Very pleasantly surprised by this wine

September 19, 2009 - I have to admit it's getting better, a little better all the time. We drank this a few weeks ago without taking notes but it just seemed to have pulled together a litte more and offered up a little more. It is not profound. Just sweet, and nice, like a first date.

    Ahhh....
Just very pleasant right now. It is not profound by any stretch of the imagination but very tasty. It still has nice cherry, cola-nut fruit but shows secondary and tertiary characteristics--dank, musty, earthy, mushroomy, what's that in the closet kind flavors. It is fun but does not have long for this world. Keep drinking.

November 15, 2008 - Ready for prime time. Very nice, balanced pinot with nothing sticking out. A bit of bricking on the color reflected in earthy flavors of tea, rose petal, sage, and nettles. It still carries some cherry/strawberry fruit but the tones are more sepia now, not technicolor. Modest alcohol for a Cali pinot at 13.5%--hurrah! Lovely wine but I recommend drinking over the next year or two as I doubt it will get better.
