March 16, 2023 - Very short decant and off to Riviera for Thursday wine night. Not much fruit and a bit tart. Some people liked it but I was expecting more complexity in nose and flavor.

June 5, 2022 - PNP 1/2 the bottle. One hour decant for the rest.

For both, the purple hue is unmistakable. On PNP the word was "integrated". The nose was harmonious with the sweet blackberry playing second fiddle to wet mushrooms and peat. Some reduction on the nose. The palate was in total harmony, with more tart blackberry and blueberry notes playing with tobacco and peat. Generous tannins and a gorgeous finish. About a 93-94.

After decant, the interaction and depth was lost. Tasted more like grape juice. The air sucked the life out of the wine. About 88-89.

The score is a compromise and this taste tells me how to approach my next bottle... a shining star, perfect with grilled strip steak and chimichurri, and to PNP before the end of the year.

April 5, 2022 - Purple color. Generous fruit with good acidity and freshness. Dark berries fruit flavors. Ripe tannins with good minerality frame.

    September 18, 2021 - WIML93

    Tasted non blind.

Dark garnet to purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of currants, black pepper, leather and dried plums. Flavors of black tart boysenberries, raspberries and earthy Bing cherries on the finish. Tart acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or hold.

Provenance impeccable. Hand carried from the winery to my cellar.
