September 13, 2017 - Wow, this was so much better than what I expected. It was super balanced, very aromatic and complex (fruit, mint, spices and leather...). The tannic structure is still present, but soft at the same time. Beautiful Meritage. Buy if you can still find it. Enjoy now or hold for at least 3-5 years.

August 10, 2017 - Been cellaring this for about five years, waiting for a special occasion. I bought this at the winery in Okanagan Valley, BC. Had it with some spicy smoked beef prime rib. Wine held up to the strong smokey beef, with nice tannins, dark seeded fruit, chocolate, leather, with a nice finish. Going back to the winery in September and am bringing back a case.
Low scores are ridiculous, and are to be ignored. Peasants! -

December 3, 2016 - VERY smooth going in, smoke and full flavor, not to sweet not to dry, really enjoyable

June 30, 2013 - Blackberry, black tea and a touch of eucalyptus on the nose. Palate of juicy blackberry, plum and cherry, lots of black tea, and some cola, oak and vanilla. Long finish of butterscotch apples. Not the fruit bomb you would expect from these flavors, and surprisingly smooth for northern climate Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Malbec. Good food wine.

June 30, 2013 - PnP let air in the glass for 30 mins. Dark dense purple with garnet rim. Smoky tarry aromas dominate with a whiff of black fruits struggling to get through. Medium weight with grippy black tea and cherry skin tannins. Very closed with racy acidity black and red fruits. A bit too acidic on the finish. This is too young. Needs food but mostly another 2 yrs.
