April 28, 2021 - Nose of tobacco, cigar box, dark flowers and dark black current type fruit. There are notes of animal, wet fur and green pepper on the nose. The palate was, initially, quiet and lacking mid palate as the tannins were expressed, mostly around the outsides of the mouth. With time this changed and it became a full and well integrated wine expressing dark fruits, coffee and green herbal notes. Excellent with an hour of air.

February 13, 2021 - Decanted for about an hour and a half; it needed it! Initially thin and acidic now it is filling out and expressing Bordeaux typicity. Nose is smokey and earthy with black fruits and some alcohol hotness on the end. Palate is ripe black cherries, plum skin, pencil lead, grape leaf, and hard candy. Tannins are strong on the gums but fine and not obtrusive. Very nice but I would try hold off on my next bottle for a couple years if I were you.

October 24, 2020 - Really lovely and smooth. Flavor and smell held on through two nights. On night two we had it side by side with a napa cab. No comparison. An aged left bank vs. an oaky, sweet, alcoholic california cab at twice the price. Really showed why I enjoy the old world. This feeling was shared with everyone at the dinner, even the non-wino folks.
