March 30, 2024 - , but not as nice as previous notes suggested. Gor a little weedy after it was open for a while.

October 31, 2014 - Drank from magnum, no decant. Purplish color, darker than expected, no discernible bricking. Nose of dark fruits, some leather too. Medium bodied, plenty of fruit, still fairly tannic and nicely structured wine. Some tertiary elements showing--earth & meat, but leather mostly; the concentration of black fruits was the most noticeable aspect of this wine to me. As I recall, this was somewhat of a modern style wine, with lots of oak and overly extracted fruit--no more. It's mellowed quite a bit, with its elements meshing together very nicely. Bottle was in fine condition, and the wine has held up exceedingly well. Went over well with the halloween crowd. We had a Remirez de Ganuza 98 from magnum right before this one, and it was a nice contrast. The first wine was lighter, fruitier, less tannic and less structured than the Leda.

July 1, 2013 - superb, mature Bordeaux-like profile, sweet fruit, scorched earth, nuts
