December 14, 2023 - Great red fruit of red raspberries on the open; early in the glass, very nice. QUICKLY looses its flavor into a black fruit mess. We have three more and will drink quickly with close family and friends.

November 27, 2019 - Mostly Yakima Valley fruit, from numerous parcels; just 10% new oak.
Decanted and showing light sediment.
The nose reveals a mixture of blueberry, boysenberry, marionberry and plum that weave in notes of cassis and vanilla with violet pastilles, lavender, baking spices, pastry, velour and hints of cocoa, anise, sandalwood and pepper.
The palate shows tart acidity and moderate tannins. There is good weight and density on the palate with flavors that show of marionberry, blueberry compote, cassis, Danish pastry, violet pastilles, vanilla, baking spices, anise, pepper and hints of cocoa. The spicy, mouthwatering finish lingers. -

December 11, 2016 - P&P, paired with chicken enchiladas. Nose is over-the-top fruit bomb with a dusting of black pepper. Doesn't match up with the palate however...much more relaxed on the fruit side, with blackberries showing prominently, along with a bit of black plum. Lots of pepper as well, finishing with blackberry pie w/vanilla ice cream. Drink now - 2018.

January 15, 2016 - Decanted and Vinturied, but it still felt a bit restrained and tight. The nose was dominated by black pepper, tar and earth, with hints of lavender, blueberry and plum. The palate was much more fruity, notably cherry and blueberry, along with blackberry, bitter chocolate, coffee, anise and steel. Acidic, but not tart, and not really tannic. All in all, it tasted very purple.
