  November 14, 2020 - Nebbiolos, white truffles, Volume V (Chicago, IL): Must be from an era where Aldo Conterno was making good wines. Herbal elements on the nose that are quite attractive, followed by a mix of mushrooms and red fruit on the palate. Good overall density but this bottle at least didn't feel like it had too much life left. But for drinking now, this was amply delicious.

  January 3, 2020 - palish, browning, fairly oxidized nose but with some cherry, undergrowth, and tar notes. Taste is much better: light, fading, but delectably aromatic fruit with a mushroomy overlay. very long

  November 24, 2018 - Barolo gathering at Officina (Officina - Washington D.C.): Tom generally serves it blind. Medium expressive nose displaying clean red fruit, cherry, cherry candy, fruitcake, a hint of licorice, tar, cinnamon and iron. Fully integrated palate, finely layered red fruit, silky and polished, warm and round, nicely integrated silky tannins and a seamless medium to long slightly dry red fruit and fruitcake driven finish with cinnamon and iron at the end. It displays a strong iron note. The overall expression is warm and round but a bit straightforward. My guess is the 90, nice showing.
