October 26, 2017 - Purchased off the wine list at Bayona. Dark garnet color. After 30 minutes the nose opened up to reveal billows of rose petal and strawberry blossom intermixed with a bit of tar and earth. Round and ripe red plum and strawberry fruit cut with resin and tar on the fulsome palate. Surprisingly softened tannin and plenty of freshening acidity. Longer finish of primary red fruit and earth. Delightful with pecorino-dusted rabbit remoulade. First exposure to this producer and hopefully not the last.
