Community Tasting Notes 1

September 30, 2012 - No notes taken but I want to remind myself I had this wonderful wine. Deep ruby, slow wide legs. Developing medium nose of red cherries, cedar, almost cigarbox, austere and exquisite. On the palate, dry, medium-medium(+) acidity, medium supple tannins, medium alcohol and tannins. Medium(+) flavours of red cherries, berries, mineral. Tannins provide a firm grip on the fruit resulting in balanced and structured, austere wine. Good length and focused finish. With Mees' braised lamb. Excellent and serious competition to its 1st world 'standards'.
