December 1, 2022 - Auction bottle from wine bid, so no guarantee on provenance/storage, but I didn't pick up any obvious signs of heat damage/other flaws. Overall, this just seemed over the hill. Shy nose, with plenty of structure on the palate overwhelming what remains of the fruit. If it came from a few miles north, we might just say it was in a dumb phase, but I had a hard time seeing this improving with further time on it's side.

April 24, 2022 - Perhaps I caught this at a bad time, or perhaps it was a heat-damaged bottle, but this wine was utterly charmless, all structure and no fruit. I have a few more to try before writing this wine off.

June 14, 2021 - Dark fruit (cherry, slight blackberry), earth, nice floral, herbal, slight chalk?, good acidity. A bit brooding. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

August 10, 2020 - Look back two years in CellarTracker, and you see people saying “drink up.” Well the wine always gets its say, and it says “hold my cork.” This is in a beautiful spot, but nowhere near any kind of downside. The dark fruit and earth tones are deeper than Buffalo Bill’s basement prison hole, and the structure maintains a present, but subtle grip. It’s robust enough to stand up to a sausage and peppers dinner, yet resolved enough for another casual post-dinner glass to glide down as effortlessly as a water park slide. Really impressive, and a nice reminder of how good this wine can be.
