  September 6, 2015 - Went well with tomato and ricotta on cavatelli. May have also come settled down a bit since last tasting. Dark cherry and herbal nose. Rich mouth feel. I recall that when paired with red meat, the finish comes across as a bit too ripe and even candied. But with tomato and ricotta the finish did well.

  April 5, 2014 - A bit hard to peg this wine. Somewhat ripe, but not overly ripe. Dark berries and spice. Moderate tannins, moderate acidity. Rich mouth feel from high alcohol, but doesn't come across as hot. A decent food wine that would probably pair well with tomato based sauces or hard cheeses.

  July 2, 2012 - Not sure I've ever had a galioppo vine wine before. The nose is big and round and fruity and tart all at once. The taste is rich and full with cassis and tobacco dominating and a basic spiciness. After 15 min of opening some serious tannins start to dominate the finish -- indicating this is still pretty young. A very pleasing delicious wine.
