June 7, 2019 - Deep ruby red in the glass. Good complexity on the nose - red/black fruit, vanilla, cloves, nutmeg. Hints of bottle age. Well-knit on the palate with a great structure. Could use a bit more acidity to liven up the wine, but even without this, this can age for a few more years.

June 5, 2016 - Worth the price for sure. The name reflects something of the character of this syrah, which has a somewhat woodsy taste that is appealing after you get used to it. An inexpensive well-balanced wine that may age for another year or two but drinks nicely now.

January 3, 2016 - The wine has medium acidity. The wine finishes medium. It tastes like blackberry and medium toast. The wine looks crimson coloured. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The wine has round texture.

November 4, 2015 - In the glass: dark red and slightly bronze-coloured.
Deep and rich Shiraz. Not fat but spicy, earthy with good tannins that do not cover the fruit body.

September 4, 2015 - Not sure this lived up to the wine mags 91 + ratings, but it was certainly good. It is not as good as the GSM blend, which is unoaked and cheaper. This wine was certainly elegant and had some depth to it - I would describe it as "luscious", but not as robust as the wine label would indicate, not as robust as many Aussie Barossa's, but I understand 2011 was an off year. We have two 2012's and am looking forward to trying those, but can not recommend the 2011 for the price.
