January 12, 2020 - Mooie, typische Ribera del Duero, zwarte bessen, paprika, leer, vanille, sappige tannines en zuren, mokka, kaneel, alles wat ik lekker vind in een wijn

May 29, 2013 - Good but not special. Quite a meat wine.

November 12, 2012 - Black fruit flavour. Nose is pleasant but a little subdued. Palate has some red fruit too. Juicy and refreshing acid. Medium tannin. Finish a little bitter. Not bad, but a little simple.

October 26, 2012 - Deep, quite opaque, blood red color. Ripe, voluptuous nose with aromas of ripe dark berries, mostly boysenberries and blackberries, with some notes of alcohol, wood, toast, a little christmas spice and a hint of jammy strawberry. Very full-bodied, ripe and chewy palate with youthful, fruity flavors. Notes of ripe dark fruits and berries, woody and spicy oak, some alcohol warmth, dust, a little strawberry and a hint of maraschino cherry. Surprisingly good acidity. Powerful and quite sweet finish with flavors of dark fruits, jammy red berries, sweet christmas spice and quite prominent alcohol warmth.

A big but rather simple Ribera del Duero that goes well with food, but is a bit too nondescript and dominated by alcohol without food. For 5,68€ (37,5 cl bottle) this modern Tempranillo has surprisingly good QPR; it is a simple crowdpleaser, but surprisingly good at it. Although a good winter warmer, I'd prefer it had a bit less oak and alcohol.

October 25, 2012 - Baked fruit nose with notes of blackberries and forest fruit. Some wood and spice notes, but above all alcohol. Slight animality.
Medium bodied and quite fruity palate with really tight grip and balanced acidity. I don't like the fruit character here; it seems just too baked and unbalanced with the excessive heat. Again some wood, spice and liquorice.
Not bad for the price, but I'm happy I only had a 0,375l bottle of this stuff. Better chilled and should improve.
