Community Tasting Notes 15

October 17, 2016 - Pretty much consistent with the note from 2015-06-13 but now this wine starting to show some development. More sous bois and the green bell pepper note is much more distinct than I remembered.

Again I'm struck by how delicious this wine is and how lovely it is to drink wines like this for around €12. Could develop further but lovely today.

June 13, 2015 - The wine shows a clear, pale intensity, ruby color.

The nose is youthful with a medium(+) aroma intensity. Aromas of blackberries, cranberries, black raspberry, black pepper, raw meat, potpourri lavender and some green bell peppers. This nose is lovely!

The wine is dry on the palate with a medium(+) acidity, medium body and tannins. The flavor intensity is medium(+) with flavors of blackberries, blueberries, raw meat, dried lavender, wet stones and black pepper. The finish is medium(+).

Once again a wine of Jean-Paul Brun delivers a complex, juicy, charming, lovely wine at ridiculous QPR. I think I payed like €12 (120SEK) per bottle.

The wine is still on it's young side and I will try to save my last one for some years just to see what will happen. But that's probably unnecessary since this is drinking lovely today. Served slightly chilled in the sun :).

August 30, 2014 - Une corbeille de fruits rouges! C'est gourmand, coulant, équilibré, avec une acidité saine et rafraichissante! En somme, du bojo comme je l'aime, fait pour la terrasse!

March 8, 2014 - Made out of grapes from 45 years old vines with no maceration carbonique, no added yeast, no chaptalisation and a very small amount of added sulfur.

So intense on the nose with dark flowers, sour cherries, sour blueberries, crushed granite, fresh thyme and a little puff of cap gun smoke. Lovely bouquet!

Light to medium bodied on the palate with the same intensity as the nose got. Delicious, mouthwatering acidity together with very gentle tannins gives a smooth and refreshing feeling on the palate.

This is what I love with high quality Beaujolais! Light, intense, refreshing, food friendly and to a very favorable price. I will try to save the rest of my bottles for a couple of years to see if it can develop some more complex and earthy aromas.
