Community Tasting Notes 5

September 21, 2015 - Really enjoyed. This has a pool of savory dark fruit, with notes of black pepper and blackberry liqueur. Not as tensed up and clenched as the 2011 Rostaing Ampodium alongside it, this is more giving, but it of course is very young and primary. There is some heft to the palate, but the balance here is good. Good underlying acidity, too. Racines.

September 15, 2015 - I really like this one, some fruit, some garrigue, lots of pepper, maybe a little bacon fat, tannins softening. Great wine.

April 27, 2014 - This wine tasted like they destemmed the bunches, kept the stems and threw away the grapes. It has a dry fruitless stemmy taste. It's like a mediocre crozes at 3x the price.
On the plus side this is a medium bodied, well balanced wine with no discernible oak. I just don't like the flavor. Take my rating with a grain of salt because that viney flavor may appeal to you. Somebody's drinking these. Ironically the Kermit Lynch Crozes is utterly delicious and I prefer it to many Hermitages.

February 26, 2013 - Quite young with medium body, moderate alcohol (13.5?) and just enough fruit with a slight kick of pepper on the finish...really nice stuff

October 13, 2012 - Still a few tears from drinking age. Loads of tannins. Tastes of vine and earth. A peppery finish. Should age well.
