September 4, 2018 - This is drinking beautifully and held up nicely over 2 days. The fruit and the balance stand out here. All types of red and black fruit with strong cassis notes. Viscous mouth feel with nice supporting structure and long finish. Some secondary notes of tobacco. A great QPR.

May 3, 2017 - Again better the second day -- there is a minty, pine note on the finish that goes away with air leaving a very nice dusty tannin with earthy tobacco notes on the finish. Nice suede mouthfeel and dark fruit. Some cedar and graphite on the nose. Not past its prime to me.

October 20, 2014 - Meander / Aiken Wine Dinner; 10/20/2014-10/21/2014 (80 Thoreau (Concord, MA)): Nose: Black Cherry, Red Berries, Sage, Pepper, Leather, Earth and Floral notes. Great nose! Palate: Silky and fully resolved, yet not losing the fruit at all. Red cherry is surrounded by eucalyptus, leather, tobacco and sage. Finish: Just fades a way with beautiful Cherry/Currant notes, leather and spice.

A well developed Napa cab drinking just right at the moment.

June 19, 2012 - Was better on the second day as it fleshed out and flavors intensified. I've had more recent vintages and this seemed more delicate and less alcohol. Not as intense in spices either. Very nice flavor profile leaning toward redder fruits and nice finish with ample minerality. Seems mature but not peaked.

September 9, 2011 - Nose: Black Cherry, Blackberry, Leather, Smoke, Chocolate and dried berries. Palate: Silky on the palate with medium weight. This has softened nicely, but tanin remains. Red and Black fruit shows and there is a gorgeous graphite/mineral component. Bakers chocolate, cocoa, green pepper and sage notes show on the back end. Finish: Persistent finish with tart berries and classic "rutherford dust" emerging.

This is aging very nicely at 8 years old and does not try to wow with big fruit. Very well crafted.
