Community Tasting Notes 5

February 18, 2021 - Blind. The heat and raisin notes gave away the hot terroir. Initially thought it was a hot Barossa or Chilean Shiraz due to sweetness and peppery scents. Balance got better after a long decant but no mistaking it for a old world wine.

September 20, 2019 - Drank after six years in my cellar. I could have waited another year maybe but this is simply great now.

May 8, 2015 - International Blind Tasting (South Africa, Gauteng, Bryanston): Opened and let breathe for 1 hour prior to tasting.
Eye: dark garnet color. Nose: high alcohol, fruity, berries, vanilla, smoky. Palate: very fruity, good tannins, full body, medium to long finish. Too young. Still very strong alcohol and fruit after further 90 minutes of breathing. Was not a strong favorite in the tasting, even though we have all enjoyed this estate before.

May 28, 2014 - Decanted 30 minutes. This wine pours a vibrant crimson red. Rich, ripe red raspberry, sappy green herbal notes, exotic wild berry, with a pure, seamless mouthfeel and transition into the finish. Still a bit young. Drink 2015-2021.

March 20, 2014 - A nice smooth wine, powerful but with soft tannins
