  January 15, 2013 - Very drinkable wine with a full fruity dark cherry finish... love the grenache blend. Drank with pan seared scallops over steamed spinach and whole grain brown rice... perfect pairing with the soft red and the bold seafood entree.

  November 16, 2012 - Deep thick red, with a nose of tea and red fruit and a high spice note. Some fruit and spice on the palate, with substantial but balanced tannins. Medium, lip-smacking finish. A fairly modest but definitely tasty wine, can only improve over the next few years. (later...) On the third night after sitting open for 48 hours, this has mellowed and integrated and is even more delicious, which suggests to me it will age nicely over the next few years. Raisng the score from 89 to 90. If drinking now, decant.

  August 5, 2012 - The 2010 La Grand Comtadine Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Spéciale shows a really nice deep red color. It has a very interesting nose of raspberry jam, spice, leather, and hints of black pepper. Full bodied, with smooth and round tannins. I love the chewey finish. A classic Cotes-du-Rhone. MD 90+
