Community Tasting Notes 7

December 16, 2015 - This is rather a modern styled red - I was immediately struck by the combination of perfectly ripe fruit and bitter chocolate oak notes on the nose. The palate had good depth and weight, nice texture, fine tannins, the fact it is garnacha was betrayed by a subtle crunchiness and juiciness to the fruit. It was fantastic after some time in the glass and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Not perhaps for Rioja purists (would I have chosen it as Rioja in a blind lineup? Hard to say) but a delicious red nonetheless.

September 9, 2015 - Are you comndening Baigorri just because it's a modern brand? IMHO you've to try something like this one. At least after six years.
Intensely aromatic of liquorice, black fruits, graphite and well-integrated wood.
On the mouth it's a little alcoholic still, I liked its mineral, dense backbone. Pitifully my last bottle.

Intensamente aromática a regaliz, frutos negros, grafito y madera bien integrada.

May 16, 2014 - Time is passing and going and this 100% Grenache wine is ageing right but nothing glorious after all.
    Dark purple colour.
Intensely aromatic of blueberries, pastry shop and something artificial plastic flavour.
Better performance on the palate with blueberries again plus a nice acidity balance with an opulent structure.
    Some sediments.
Last bottle of the pack for the next year.

Intensamente aromática a arándanos azules, pastelería y algo artificial a plástico.

October 15, 2013 - If compared with last Grenache of past weekend, this one was richer, opulent and firmer.
Seriously concentrated, on the palate showed a performance closer more to a RdD than a Rioja. Only that vivid acidity reflected its origin.
Nose was dominated by sandalwood. Little monolithic.
    Still a nice bottle.

September 15, 2012 - That red colour I really appreciate.
Very long legs, quite rich and alcoholic yet it is easy to drink.
Flamboyant nose with cherry-coke, plums and mineral notes.
Palate is totally resolved and has potential to age very well.
    Rioja Grenache, modern style.
