October 4, 2019 - What a treat! Brought to our CWG-D by David. In less than 10 seconds I picked everything, the region, wine, year, everything. Because this is one of my favorite wines and I had it twice before, the first time at the winery in Napa, then a few months ago with my GF, and now last night.

This wine is full body, balanced, oak-minerals-fruit in perfect harmony, dark berries, chocolate and smoke! The vivid acidity makes you believe it’s 5-10 years younger.

This wine is perfect to drink now but also in good form to go the distance...

I see it going strong at least until 2030!

October 4, 2019 - As big as an Amarone. Hugh presence, balanced, with cherries, cigar box cedar, a bit of raisin. Long climatic finish. Remarkable with grilled meats. Drinking well now that the youthful tannins have melded. Drink now through 2030.

October 4, 2019 - Delicious from the start but needed an hour in the decanter to bring out the lovely dark earth on the palate. Really well-made Napa blend that is drinking perfectly right now. Score reflects that it was the third wine of the evening and perhaps I would rate it higher under different circumstances.

    August 24, 2019 - blind, from Magnum
still very Young, powerful, deliciuos fruit dominated but missing the tertiary Aromas to lift it to another Level. Probably best drinking window 10-15 years. 95+

August 15, 2019 - This wine is still very and it tastes as such. It is deep, rich and very primal. This is textbook Insignia, and has that distinct personality I love about this wine. Deep nose, and dark fruits dominate on the palate. Cassis, blueberries and red meat. The tannins are soft but quite dominant. Mature flavors are trying to emerge but masked by all the dark fruit. I think this is what’s missing to take this wine to the next level. Quite drinkable now, but I’m quite intrigued to see what this is going to taste like in another 2-3 years.
