May 14, 2022 - At its peak. Medium complexity. Rather floral/elegant than fruit driven

May 3, 2020 - Excellent this time around. Elegant and balanced Rosso. At peak.

March 31, 2020 - Not as bad as many portray it to be here. Recall searching for this wine all over the U.S. as Britain's Decanter touted its "outstanding" 96 score (no x/20). Certainly not worthy of more than a 90 despite its age. It's certainly Sangiovese and not a bad wine, all the elements are there, but it does not stand out as anything exceptional. There are dozens of other producers who did just as well. Buyer beware.

November 10, 2019 - Very advanced for its age. Not bad but a bit tired.

January 26, 2019 - Mostly tertiary notes and not much fruit left. The fruit that exists is dried and slightly cooked. Dark cherries, almost black. Cherry core, black tea, plums, dark old leather, Maduro cigar, wet leaves, gravel road. Very rustic and powerful with hints of pepper in the end. The palate is dense and structured with dry present tannins. Alcohol comes through big time in the aftertaste. Unbalanced and all over the place, decent with food but hardly drinkable on its own. Disappointing.
