March 29, 2024 - Color still yellow, not golden. Oxidative on nose and palate at first, but a little air time caused the oxidative elements to blow off. Wine sat too long on its side so cork was compressed and the bead was weak. Green apples and touches of hazelnut, with a little lemon zest and creme. Finish of about 15 seconds. Basically, a less full bodied and robust version of the '96 Dom P., which still makes it a very enjoyable bottle.

December 31, 2023 - Opened at New Year’s Eve with wife. Complex nose, long finish. Tastes of lemon zest, orange peel, brioche. Finish was a bit too sour for my taste.

December 31, 2023 - 1996 de Venoge Louis XV Brut. This was a very generous gift and while I was excited to open it....I almost wanted to not like it because the bottle and packaging are super over the top, ha! But it was really good! Slightly oxidative for my tastes (I'm super sensitive to it even consider Krug to be a little too much), but it's drinking really well and full of lemon/citrus with loads of acidity. Medium minus bodied and very easy to drink but contemplative at the same time. Happy New Year all!

December 31, 2022 - Bright & acidic. Notes of lemon & lime, with moderate bubbles compliment well. A nice treat to toast with!
