October 12, 2020 - Vinhas velhas.

April 3, 2015 - Dark, black cherry color with a hint of translucency. Sweet, intense and nuanced nose with aromas of purple berries, jammy blueberries, some floral aromatics, a little plum jam and a hint of grappa-like alcohol. Sweet and hot on the palate with moderate, quite lively acidity and noticeable, grippy and grainy tannins. The mouthfeel is chewy and textural with flavors of ripe blackcurrants, fig jam, sweet bilberries, créme de cassis, some baking spices, a little alcohol and a hint of floral nuances. The finish is quite long, sweet and pretty hot with flavors of sweet, juicy dates and figs, prunes, some bilberry jam and a little christmas spices with a hint of gravelly earth. The tannins give the aftertaste a gritty texture.

An enjoyable, youthful and even a bit aggressive Ruby Port with good, robust structure and nice structure. Has a lot more character than most of Ruby Ports that too often are just simple, sweet and too mellow with no power or grip. Might even develop over some years in a cellar. A positive surprise.

March 12, 2015 - Ruby port. Balsamico, high pitched aromatics, dried fruits, cherry-aronia syrup.
