June 16, 2019 - Chenin study (et al.) (Chicago, IL): Slightly dirty on the nose, though it may be a hint of reduction. This is definitely chenin made in a style that I don't like -- it's far too heavy, waxy, honeyed, and oily without any counterbalancing features. Not to mention that the alcohol here is seriously quite high and you get some serious bitter burn on the back end. Too thick and chunky, and without elegance, for my taste.

July 15, 2018 - Sunday blinds (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Another wine that was a little tricky to place. There was a bit of a sulphurous stink at first, but besides that, this seemed to be fairly neutral. This seemed to have experienced some oak, thanks to its really fat and rich palate (I don't think this wine actually does -- I suspect it's the late picking that gives this the fatness). As well, I picked out a splash of green so I thought this was some sort of riper sauvignon blanc, perhaps from Bordeaux?

May 7, 2018 - Vinosphere (Town Hall, Sydney): Milky almost with quite overpowering aromas of lanolin.

May 1, 2018 - Day 6. Youthful pale lemon color. Nothing advanced here. Weird apple. Some earthiness, farts, basement. Lots of ABV to the palate. Apple, some developing vanilla on the palate. Again, more together today than it was on day 1, but still a brute of.a wine.

December 17, 2017 - Damn Winos: Last Jedi (Blu-Mist Restaurant): Perhaps a little more "golden" (? sl oxidized) than my 2/16 bottle. Still has the "white citrus, floral, butter, earth, and melon notes". Nice texture with some glycerin giving some at the table the impression of sweetness. Great persistence. Now-2025.
