December 31, 2022 - The initial nose was smoked meats/bacon. Palette is persimmons with smooth, well-integrated tannins. Once it had time to breathe, the palette revealed baking spices: nutmeg and cloves. Fruit evolved toward bing cherry, with caramel and cream. Could use a little more time in the bottle.

November 26, 2020 - Opened the bottle with the screw top; still have the cork closure in the cellar. Hoping that the bottle with the cork will fare better. This was disappointing. Just not much complexity or soul. Fairly undistinguished.

October 26, 2020 - Really tasty. Drinks well. Tannins have mellowed. Fruit is still there. Balanced and smooth.

March 5, 2016 - Delicious! Dark fruit, hint of game from the PV (yes it's a higher than normal percentage but it works well with this wine). Dark, rich, nice tannin structure, long finish.

October 20, 2014 - Truly fantastic! Extremely powerful but refined! Balanced and silky smooth. This is a "heavy boned" wine and is loaded with layers of complexity. A very "sexy" wine! I had this in the PJ tasting room and a couple years later at home. It was even better the second time!
