Community Tasting Notes 6

January 29, 2014 - This was opened by John and his wife at the Peking Duck House offline in NY. This was the first vintage made by this winery. I'm a little fuzzy on the relationship but this estate is owned by the Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law of John or his wife. The grapes are sourced from 3 vineyards. An earthy and typical Oregon Pinot. Smooth tannins with notes of blackberry, oak and spices. Really holding up well for being 13 years old. Medium bodied. 91-92 points.

November 4, 2007 - Anice, straightforward pinto with dried fruit flavors but little mouth feel.

July 29, 2007 - Beautiful ruby in color. Fairly decadent and savory and craves to be served with food. It helps that the wine remains medium weight. Floral aromas like lavendar, along with ripe raspberry, spice, chocolate, and earth. Well integrated falvors of blackberry, currant, spice, and tannins. Finishes with flavors of oak, spice, and a light tar.

November 18, 2004 - This wine has greatly improved in the last 16 months. It shows great elegance and mouthfeel. The nose shows cocoa, baking spice, and a touch of heat. The palate has the aforementioned qualities and tastes of vanilla, cranberry, and spice. The heat from the nose shows up a bit on the finish. Despite the heat, I enjoy the spiciness of the finish. I don't usually associate heat with elegance, but this wine is an exception.

July 15, 2003 - Pinot made by Ken Wright. Very light in comparision to his other label. Nose of leather, earth with a touch of bret. Light mouthfeel. Good black fruit midpalate, but little to nothing on the finish. Good acid. Overall wine is pleasing, but nothing terribly special.
