October 24, 2013 - Dry, slight jam, spice. Nice wine

March 26, 2013 - Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Very dark ruby with a bit of brown. Fragrant nose, wafting an interesting wave of mint along with cherries, blackberries, and dry wood. Dry and brambly on the palate, showing coffee flavors and austerity; medium body, not rich but angular. Finishes quickly with firm grip and low tannins. An interesting version of Spain's great grape. Not as sensuous as the CA style I am used to drinking. Respectable; thought-provoking.

January 30, 2013 - Blackberry, creosote, and some leather. Could use a couple years to mellow. Nice brawny wine though.
