August 1, 2015 - Fresh, lively, full of Bordeauxiness. Smooth Blue fruit, racquet ball, cool wet stones, cigar box, rubbed sage, eucalyptus. And the tannins; velvety and long. After 45 years. Stunning. It was a privilege to drink this wine.

October 23, 2013 - Completely forgot about this bottle. Tried to open with "ahso" opener but cork fell into bottle. Decanted. Musty off notes but also cigar, leather mineral notes. A glass or two were interesting with some of the same notes on the palate. Wine quickly faded. It was way past it's prime. Not sure how good the wine was in its prime. We would not give this a rating but have tasted equally aged Boudreaux of othe vintages that were wonderful, unlike this wine.

December 15, 2009 - Mid shoulder fill. The cork fell into the bottle despite attempts to prevent this. Poured into a decanter 15 minutes before tasting. Medium deep blood-ruby hue, faintly hazy. Fresh, invigorating bouquet of juniper berries, mulling spices, rosemary, orange peel, and sweet earth. "Like a Christmas wreath," my friend exclaimed. On the palate, a First Growth level of silky smooth refinement. Flavors of red currants and black tea, with roasted cashews emerging after a while. Elegant and classy. There was a persistent mustiness with this wine that did not detract too much. I wonder if that was caused by the moldy cork falling into the bottle, but it was only in contact with the wine for less than a minute. The wine faded quickly and became noticeably bitter after 45 minutes.
