May 24, 2023 - would not have guessed this is a budget wine. Drinks far above it price point and after all this time it's held up really well. Nose is fragrant cherry, menthol, some minerality. Body is a bit thin but the flavors that come through are delightful. Wish I had more!
March 5, 2023 - The last TN from anyone other than myself was back in 2016 - which is probably a statement that I have hung on to these too long.
I actually like the nose here quite a bit, but this is pretty thin on the palate. I see there are still 44 bottles in the CT inventory - if you have this in the cellar, drink up!
May 23, 2021 - I had a Thivin Brouilly earlier this week, and this wine is not nearly as enjoyable as the Thivin was. A savory note on an otherwise undistinguished nose. There is a hole in the middle on the palate - in total, fair.
October 20, 2017 - Mostly translucent ruby, but murky at the core. Red and black fruit on the nose.
Light-bodied, with good acidity. Not bad, although perhaps a little dilute in the mid-palate.
August 20, 2017 - Similar in color to the Thivin; more black fruits than red here on the nose.
Still somewhat tart on the palate, but this presents much better on opening than the Thivin just did. Neither of these wines strike me as old per se, but they are both more attenuated today than they were in their youth. Off these two wines, this is one vintage where the acidity may last longer than the fruit.
March 29, 2016 - Similar to our note last November. Our last; darn, it was good.
January 5, 2016 - Smokey mineral notes dominate the nose, with dried dark fruit, potpourris, and toast. Med body, long pleasant acid driven finish. Great value wine. Best cellared 3-5 years. Drink 2013-2018
November 4, 2015 - Medium ruby. Balanced; an appropriate touch of sweetness, with very pleasant earthiness and / or minerality peeking around the corner. A lively and lovely example that reminds us why we so enjoy a good Beaujolais.
January 19, 2015 - Oops, now only one left. I'll have to keep my hands of that btl. Great as usual but showing slightly more tannic tonight.
December 19, 2014 - Similar notes as before. A bit less bubblegum, a bit more red fruit.
