February 24, 2015 - Dark red-purple. Reduced — i.e. aromas of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) — unexpected since this is a wine that is over 3 years old. I would suspect that it was fermented in stainless steel tanks, stabilized and bottled without any barrel aging. While this treatment works well with some grapes, malbec, because of its intensity, needs oxygen during its production cycle. Recommended serving: Open 2 hours in advance and/or aerate thoroughly prior to pouring.

March 22, 2014 - Clearly influenced by new world techniques and style, a world away from classic Cahors. Berries and smoke on nose, tannins a secondary influence on palate, relatively light bodied (13.5% abv).
Confirming earlier comments, the wine opens out significantly over the course of an hour or so.
    Good value

October 11, 2013 - Dark and delicious. New world style, fruit forward, but yielded to firm and ripe tannins. Thoroughly enjoyed it with seared tuna and fried shrimp. Have 2 more bottles: one to hold, the 2nd to compare with the 2010 vintage.

July 26, 2013 - Very young, but a nice drink for a Friday night gathering. Goes well with some cheese selection. We had it at a small wine bar downtown NY. Small legs, short on the finish but refreshing. Dark ruby/ink color, touch of berries and cassis on the smell. Still needs some time IMHO. Taste developed and evolved over the drinking time (~1 hour) Very nice return for the price category (~15, which comes up to about ~35 in a restaurant/bar) but is more modern than classic french wine.
