July 6, 2023 - At peak or a bit on the downhill, lacking a bit of structure, but fruit and complexity are delicious, Don't hold for much longer unless you want to see tertiary notes, which should also be good.

June 30, 2019 - Still holding up. Super smooth with plenty of fruit to make this still a very good wine. Not as deep as it may have been but very nice to drink with a medium to long finish.

August 4, 2018 - Tasted blind with a 2010 Kenzo Estate Murasaki (Napa) and 2012 Jamie Slone Cabernet (Santa Barbara), this Washington blend was the top-rated wine overall among six tasters of varied experience. It was my #2 and another persons #2, as we both had the 2010 Kenzo Murasaki higher. The Murasaki had comparatively more elegance and complexity along with better oak integration to my taste. Nevertheless, all agreed this was excellent with steak. Tannins were smooth and this is ready to drink.

Shows beautiful aromas that blend notes of cherry, pomegranate, plum and blueberry that intertwine with notes of cassis, toast, dried florals, basalt rock and earth with hints of vanilla and ganache.
The palate is alive and drinking in it's peak. Tannins show they are well integrated into wine which also shows structured-juicy acidity, moderate alcohol and density. Flavors of bright red fruit pop showing cherry and pomegranate with notes of cassis and blueberry, a mix of toast, spice, herbs, dried florals and earth are all balanced nicely. Long through the finish!
Drinking in it's prime. Balanced, lovely and complex.

September 13, 2017 - I drank this last night alongside a Abeja Cab 2010. This was a little less impressive than the Abeja, with this wine being a little riper, less structured and with a hint of sweetness that I often find in WA cabs. But it had better complexity, more things going on in the glass, probably due to it being a Bordeaux blend. Solid wine drinking well now (A-).

Washington Wine Report

  • By Sean Sullivan
    12/6/2012 (link) ***** points

(Tamarack Cellars Reserve Red Wine DuBrul Vineyard Rattlesnake Hills) Noticeably different from its 2007 vintage counterpart, this wine is considerably more restrained with very high toned herbal notes, licorice, and spice with an under layer of cherries. The palate is densely packed with tightly wound fruit flavors with ripe, plump tannins. A beautiful wine with excellent cellaring potential. 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 7% Cabernet Franc. Aged 22 months in French oak (67% new). 14.1% alcohol. 228 cases produced.
