March 5, 2018 - Consistent with previous note. I'm drinking these up. No reason to think they will improve but they're showing great now.

February 22, 2018 - I've been trying a bunch of the high-end Oregon Pinots with some age on them. Popped and poured, youthful and with the characteristic Bergstrom effervescence at first. For the first hour, restrained but beautiful fruit. Then a confused phase for a half-hour or so, then deeper, blacker fruit. Very enjoyable. This is one of the good ones.

January 1, 2015 - From magnum. Wow, where did this come from? Outstanding nose of pretty red and black fruit, dried roses, mushrooms and lovely spice. Great balance and texture on the palate. Really enjoyed the interplay between red fruit, spice and earth. Very impressive.

July 21, 2013 - Bought from the winery at release, we opened this tonight alongside their Archery Summit 2002 Arcus. Red and black cherry aromas with some baking spice and hints of earthy character starting to emerge. This wine is holding up nicely and starting to show some exciting evolved character with enough acidity to last. This wine is in its peak drinking window, with well stored bottles should drink well for at least 5 more years.

November 10, 2012 - Wine Dinner @ fasteddie35's Home (Lake Forest, IL): Drank alongside the '02 Cumberland and '02 Bergstrom Vineyard.

Big bacon fat on the nose with black berries and baking spice.
Burgundy elegance meets Napa fruit on the palate. Structured. Long finish.

    SS 93pts.

November 4, 2012 - 16th Annual Lyon 10 Year Retrospective (Same Old Place): My WOTN. This has deep black cherry, blackberry fruit w/o being heavy. Spice notes dot the i's and cross the t's. Some notable glycerin adds to the luxurious mouthfeel. Nice backbone and length. 93 on day 2.

December 25, 2011 - Had been holding on to this one for a while and was sad to see it go. Opened this magnum and decanted a good 2.5hrs before serving it with roast leg of lamb and root vegetables. At first approach the with was still a bit tight, but started to open fairly soon thereafter. A very nice, appealing nose of ripe fruit. Very round on the palate with robust berry and wonderfully balanced tanins. Not as long on the finish as I might have hoped, but really good.

April 3, 2011 - Lots of fresh dark fruit with a very big, meaty flavor. Nice trace of baking spice on the finish. Still quite primary. Wish the oak was a little less distinct and better integrated. I was surprised how young this wine tasted, it clearly has lots of life remaining.
