December 15, 2016 - The most disappointing 92 I have ever given. This is one of my absolute favorite bottles of wine and the best under $100 bottle I have drank. Brought this to a friends house that loves Quintessa but didn't know Phillipe Melka consulted for them. Wanted to share this bottle with him. Usually decant 2 hours but was rushed and only got an hour. Nose was definitely muted and should have been a clue that something was up as this usually has a wonderful nose. The fruit was subdued and was reticent to show itself. This had been the smoothest wine I had drank but sadly not on this night. Although this did improve over the hour we consumed it. Hard to believe this is deteriorating as I had this 3 months ago and it was amazing. Maybe entering a dumb phase. Will wait six months for my next bottle and keep my fingers crossed.

September 23, 2016 - One of my favorite bottles. Tremendous mountain fruit that is not overbearing and is in balance with the rest of the wine. Philippe Melka is a tremendous winemaker. This is a great bottle for under $100. Drinking great now but has plenty of life left in it.
