March 10, 2023 - 2 hrs decant. Cork perfect. Some funk on opening, disappeared quickly. Blackish red, brown edge, Not as dense as we expected. Medium+ bq w dark fruit, toasted oak, pepper, smoked meat, stone dust. Extremely well-balanced wine with acidity, fruit and tannins very well integrated. 45 second aftertaste, hints of sour cherries. We doubt it will get any better with age - it is now very silky and polished, a bit Burgundian. Lacks a bit of power for the top marks.

December 25, 2022 - Dark color, very spicy nose. 2 Hours decant. Aromas of dark fruit and exotic spices. Notes of vanilla and a wonderful sweetness. Long finish. Still quite young.

January 3, 2022 - On pnp soaring with cherry liquor I decided to decant for an hour and then fill back in bottle for dinner. Served from Zalto Universal this was a lovely wine that kept changing - it was fine and Burgundian on one hand, then it had traits of a slightly heady Pomerol with kirsch liquor and also some classic mature N Rhone traits with nuances of pepper and game all with a well integrated backframe of new oak that I associate with Guigal wines. A very good wine and I felt this more complete and enticing today than the 97 Mouline tasted a few weeks back for its higher fruit intensity.

December 24, 2021 - Two bottles, and very, very good. I've always liked this vintage, but have opened a few less than stellar bottles. The smoky olive notes were a draw and this had a lot of attractive hedonism going on.

October 18, 2021 - Really enjoyed this bottle which was quite open after an hour or two. Red and dark fruits, bacon fat, leather. All very balanced and delicious. Lacks a bit of intensity to be truly great.
